Striped Delight

My recently completed striped felted knitting tote. I really do love this bag. It’s not too big but it is deep enough that things are not poking out of the top. I was surprised at the lack of fuzzing on the bag after it felted. On other projects I’ve had to take a shaver to the finished item but that wasn’t necessary here. I also tried adding some color twisted handles. If I ever try that again I’ll either twist them tighter or just wait until after the felting process to do the twisting. It only took 1 spin in the washing machine to finish the felting process and at the end the bag had shrunk from a height of 23 inches to 14 inches. The width decreased from 14” to 11.5”.

Yarn: Paton’s Classic Merino, 2 skeins “Too Teal” & 1 skein “Aran”
Needles: US size 13, double strand of yarn
Pattern: Felted Knitting Tote (minus the skulls)
Date started: 3-24-06
Date finished: 3-30-06

Wow - that felted bag turned out nice! And good to know that Paton's is a good felting yarn (quick & no fuzziness).

What projects did you rip for yarn in the next post (New Goals)? That bottom pink is purty.

Thanks! I can definately see more felted bags with this yarn in the future.

One project that I ripped was my light pink Tam Hat, which was too big for even my gigantic head.

The other was my magenta Knitty Blackberry which has never been worn in the 8 months I've had it (it didn't hang well either) and was too pretty a color to let waste.

The light pink is being made into another modified boobholder sweater and the magenta will be a Tubey sweater.

I really love that bag!!!!! great colors, great size, and I like the look of the handles, even though I imagine they could be uncomfortable to carry if the bag is loaded heavy with produce from the market...

I like your stripy bag, almost as much as the DVD being used as a size refference.
